Championing Teachers.
Empowering Multilingual
Children.
Multilingual Promise is an AI-powered professional development organization that trains and coaches teachers of multilingual children from birth to age six.
We prepare teachers to master evidence-based instruction that advances English acquisition, supports home-language development, and builds early literacy, math, and science foundations for fourth-grade reading proficiency.

Professional Development Program:
Mastering Effective Teaching for Multilingual Children
Multilingual Promise builds AI-powered professional development for teachers of multilingual children in early childhood. The program has two components that work together.
Online Courses
A set of self-paced online courses available in English and Spanish. Teachers learn the research base for language and literacy development in multilingual children, then practice applying instructional decisions through AI-generated classroom scenarios. The AI presents realistic teaching situations; the teacher responds; the system evaluates those responses against evidence-based practices and provides targeted feedback.
STELAR™ Coach
A mobile app that brings coaching into the actual classroom. Teachers record 10-20 continuous minutes of classroom audio from their own instruction. The app analyzes that audio against four instructional domains and returns a structured report identifying STELAR Moments (instances where the teacher applied target practices), Missed Moments (opportunities not taken), and concrete next steps. There is no video recording. The teacher controls what is recorded and when.
Why this matters at this age
Nationally, 93% of children classified as English learners — a term that largely overlaps with what Multilingual Promise calls multilingual children — score below proficient in fourth-grade reading (NAEP, 1992–2024). The gap is visible at fourth grade, but the oral language, vocabulary, and comprehension foundations that predict reading outcomes are established in the years before formal schooling begins. Instruction in those early years determines whether children enter reading with the language base they need.
Multilingual Promise targets the teachers working with children from birth through age 8 — the window in which those foundations are built.

Train with AI
Teachers complete self-paced modules in English and Spanish that connect multilingual development, reading science, and evidence-based instruction to classroom practice. AI simulations build competency through realistic conversations, complex scenarios, and real-time feedback.
Coach with AI
Teachers record real classroom interactions using the STELAR™ Coach mobile app. The AI-powered app analyzes the audio against 13 instructional indicators and creates a personalized coaching report. This report becomes an action plan, guiding teachers on what to improve, what to do next, and how to apply those steps in their next interaction.
